Ben Wildavsky | Team Profile


Ben Wildavsky is a senior advisor at the Harvard Project on Workforce who writes about how higher education prepares people for work.
His forthcoming book, Know-How: The Global Rise of Hands-On Higher Education (Johns Hopkins University Press, Fall 2027), draws on reporting from Germany, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, and India to examine what the U.S. can learn from work-integrated learning models abroad.
He is the author of The Career Arts (Princeton University Press, 2023) and The Great Brain Race (Princeton, 2010), and coeditor of Measuring Success (Johns Hopkins, 2018) and Reinventing Higher Education (Harvard Education Press, 2011).
A Fulbright Specialist and Salzburg Global Fellow, he was a visiting fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and senior vice president at Strada Education Network, and earlier held roles at the College Board, the Brookings Institution, and U.S. News & World Report. He hosted the Higher Ed Spotlight podcast, and his writing has appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, and Washington Post.
