Our team is conducting a series of nationally representative surveys on generative AI use at work and at home. The data are sourced from the Real-Time Population Survey, a nationwide survey that asks the same core questions and follows the same timing and structure as the Current Population Survey (CPS), the monthly labor force survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. We aim to inform policymakers and organizational leaders on the speed and intensity of generative AI adoption to give a better perspective on its economic impact in the country.
Check out and interact with the Generative AI Adoption Tracker, which shows selected time series views of survey results since August 2024. Read more on the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis On the Economy Blog.
